When applying makeup, I always make sure my brushes are clean. For my Soft Fibre and Synthetic brushes I use Baby Shampoo to clean them thoroughly when in between applications I use Mac cleaner for my Soft Fibre and a spray with a 99% Alcohol for my synthetic brushes.
Always clean and exfoliate your skin prior to toners, moisturizers and primers. This is essential in making your skin receptive as possible for a smoother application.
Always try to match your foundation to your skin tone, you don't want those visible lines. If you need a natural tan look I recommend a bronzer or darker skin finish to accent what you're looking for.
First thing I notice is the eyebrows! Always make sure your eyebrows are groomed before any application, I recommend a day prior so the redness is not visible. See a specialist if you're unsure how to shape them. A classic arch is highly recommended to lift the eye space and give it a brighter appearance.
For that Smokey Dramatic eye, I always use an eye primer after I place my foundation. The primer is what eliminates the crease in your makeup. When applying the primer spread all over the lid but not too much as this will do the opposite effect. Then you will apply your lighter base colour to your lid, then your darker colour for your crease blending them together and adding a pale shimmer colour to your brow bone to complete the dramatic look.
Concealer if needed, then a sheer liquid foundation to match the skin tone, using a soft peachy blush, purple eyeshadow with black liner and mascara to finish the eyes. For lips you can use a darker lip pencil and Peach coloured lip gloss.
